Harriet Chapman

Lead Coach

LTA Senior Coach (Level 4), Spanish Tennis Director (Level 3),

& USTA Performance Specialist (Level 3)

Private Lesson Price - £35 per hour* - 07581 143448

Harriet started coaching in the UK in 2002 having got injured playing for The University of Texas and on the WTA tour where she reached her highest NCAA ranking of 9 in singles and 17 in doubles.

Her coaching career began running a large talent ID program in over 100 schools and set up a big mini tennis programme from which came many county players, several national players, and it supported the 10 players aged 11-14 already on the regional pathway. She took her Level 4 Performance qualification during this time.

She decided to move on and take a full-time performance position in the Midlands. The club already had several good county players over the age of 10 who were from Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire. The club needed a big grass roots programme building and she did a couple of big festivals of tennis inviting 40 schools at a time to talent ID which provided a constant stream of talent. After just 18 months she had her first LTA funded player.

She continued her professional development by taking the opportunity to spend time on court with Martin Weston (now Men’s National Coach), Dave Sammel (ATP Coach), Jez Green (Strength & Conditioning expert). She took her Level 5 coaching qualification under an array of coaches including Steve McLoughlin and was mentored by Judy Murray.

During this time, she had developed many mini tennis players who were competing nationally and 3 years in a row had the top player at U10 boys. She also had girls in national main draw at U16 and U18, as well as players competing for the county from U8 to U18 boys and girls.

She has had 12 years away from the sport, playing football, studying, and in the last year playing Padel, but she returns to the game excited to bring her knowledge and experience of performance tennis to another environment and hopefully have another successful shot being part of a team in producing more performance players.
