Additional sessions organised on top of this for players showing the highest level of commitment.

An elite programme that is designed around those who are highly committed to their tennis, and demonstrate advanced fundamental skills.

To be eligible players must be playing at least twice per week and regularly competing.

The Advantage Programme takes place inside at Leeds Beckett University, roughly 10 mins away from Roundhay TC. This ensures that sessions always run whatever the weather, and maintains quality in every lesson.

We focus on making sure that players are ready for competition through all 4 performance factors: technical, tactical, mental, and physical. These are built into all sessions to ensure we create well rounded athletes that are technically sound and resilient under pressure.

The coaches ensure that they regularly see the players on the programme compete, to make sure that the sessions are specific to their needs. We focus on making sure that players are able to compete to their highest level, from whatever level they join us at. This ranges from beginning to play competitively to a County or Regional level.

The Advantage Programme is lead by Head Coach Paul, see more about him on the Our Team page.

As a County Coach Paul is regularly working with the best players in Yorkshire. This awareness of standards helps him to be able to know what needs to be done to reach this level and above. He has coached several players who have gone on to join the County Squad and represent Yorkshire in their age group.

His experience coaching at this level and understanding of the players journey from his own perspective, means that Paul is able to help players to develop their game, improve their match play, and uncover their potential.   â€‹

Testimonials

"My son has really benefited from the smaller class environment and the focus on technique. His tennis has definitely improved as a result of the programme and he’s made some great friends too."

"I have 2 children attending the Advantage Programme and they absolutely love it. Paul strikes just the right balance between making the sessions fun yet challenging. Both my children have improved greatly in their ability and confidence. Paul is a fantastic coach and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the programme."

(Parent of 8&U & 9&U Players)

"Charlie thoroughly enjoys the Saturday afternoon squad at Leeds Carnegie. Paul is both encouraging and calm which has been great for Charlie. The drills are excellent and they hit a lot of balls during the sessions. As a parent I like how Paul is as a coach is with Charlie and they have formed a good relationship."

"Rafael has been coached by Paul since he started at Roundhay Tennis Club. During that time, Rafael has developed not only his fundamental (tennis) skills, but more recently, the technical side of his game. Paul is a calm, knowledgeable coach who passes on his expertise in a fun concise manner which Rafael understands.

Rafael enjoys many sports, but if you ask him, tennis is right there at the top of his list!"
